Two boys, ages 14 and 16, have been charged with the weekend stabbing death of another teenager near a Marietta bus terminal.
Around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Marietta police officers responding to reports of an unconscious person in a grassy area near the Cobb Community Transit terminal on South Marietta Parkway found 18-year-old Marqise Carruthers of Marietta, suffering from a single knife wound to the chest, police spokesman David Baldwin said.
Carruthers was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he later died.
Baldwin said investigators had determined that an earlier altercation between the victim and two juveniles at another location “ended violently near the CCT parking lot.”
Sunday, detectives arrested Josue Chapa, 14, and 16-year-old Brandon Betancourt, both of Marietta, and charged them as adults with murder, Baldwin said.
He said the investigation is still active, and asked that anyone with information on the incident call Det. Daniel Ohmann at 770-794-5372.
