Austell vendors of boiled peanuts, vegetables and flowers no longer may use the city’s Veterans Memorial Park but may use the gravel lot across from Legion Field, 5514 Austell-Powder Springs Road.

Councilman Ollie Clemons has voiced concerns over the vendors since last year, wanting to protect the sanctity of the park at 2633 Veterans Memorial Highway, which opened in March.

During Monday’s pre-agenda meeting, Clemons said he noticed the vendors had returned.

Police Chief Bob Starrett said he would inform the vendors of the location change.
