The Alpharetta Planning Commission is to consider a proposal Thursday for a mixed-use development with offices, restaurants, shopping and 500 residential units on 62.5 acres at Ga. 400 and Haynes Bridge Road.
Fuqua Development Co. and the TPA Group seek to combine two adjoining land parcels and amend an existing master plan for 47 acres – approved as the Peridot development in 2012, and also known as the Metropolitan Life land – and rezoning for 15.5 acres designated for offices in 1988.
The developers envision 430 rental units (changed from 445 for-sale condominiums), 70 for-sale townhouses, 51,200 square feet of stores and restaurants, 664,400 square feet of office, and a full-service hotel with up to 200 rooms. Conditional uses are sought to allow the rental housing as well as a bank.
“The project is intended to be a community in and of itself, complete with multiple dining options, office space, grocery, retail uses and residences,” with a lake, roundabout, screened parking, on-street parking and pedestrian-friendly linear parks, according to the developers’ application to the city.
