The Berkeley Lake City Council voted recently to set the qualifying date for the Nov. municipal election to begin at 11 a.m. Aug. 21 and end at 4 p.m. Aug. 24 at City Hall, 4040 South Berkeley Lake Road.
Anyone interested in running for one of three open council member seats will need to pay a qualifying fee of $27. All qualifying fees must be paid at the time of qualifying. This year, council seat terms currently held by Rodney Hammond, Scott Lee and Chip McDaniel will expire. Pat Chapman is appointed as election superintendent for the city in accordance with state law.
