Decatur’s commission re-elected Jim Baskett to his third term as mayor and Kecia Cunningham as mayor pro tem in a brief meeting Monday night.

Baskett, 67, was first elected mayor in January 2013, replacing Bill Floyd who’d been mayor the previous 13 years. Decatur remains the only metro Atlanta city that doesn’t popularly elect its mayor, annually appointing the position from among its five-person commission.

Three commissioners are up for re-election later this year, including Baskett and Cunningham, along with Scott Drake.
