A toddler was run over and killed by his mother Wednesday in Barrow County, authorities said.
The mother of the 14-month-old boy was dropping the child off at his grandmother’s home about noon Wednesday, Barrow County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Matt Guthas said.
“When the mother prepared to leave, the child unknowingly got behind the vehicle and was struck and killed,” Guthas said in a statement.
The incident happened in the driveway of the grandmother’s home, Guthas said.
Investigators are trying to determine whether any laws were violated, but Guthas said evidence indicates that the death was the result of an accident.
The investigation continues.
