They died together, and on Thursday, their funerals will be held hours apart at the same Paulding County church.
Kylie Hope Lindsey, 17, and Isabella Alise Chinchilla, 16, both students at South Paulding High School, died late Saturday in a crash involving a state trooper in Carroll County. Investigators believe the Nissan the teens were riding in turned in front of Trooper Anthony Scott's patrol car on U.S. 27.
Scott’s car hit the right side of the Nissan, ejecting Lindsey, according to the Georgia State Patrol. Investigators believe the Nissan failed to yield. Two male teenagers — Dillon Lewis Wall, 18, and Benjamin Alan Finken, 17, both of Douglasville — were also in the Nissan and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. Scott was treated and released from Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton after the crash, according to GSP.
Students and teachers returned to school Monday after a week off for fall break. But it was a solemn day as the school community remembered the two classmates who did not return.
Visitation for both girls will be held Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bellamy Funeral Home in Hiram, according to their online obituaries. Chinchilla's funeral will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at West Ridge Church in Dallas, and Lindsey's funeral will follow at the same church at 3 p.m.
