Authorities on Sunday released the name of the man whose body was found Friday along a south Fulton County roadway.

The victim was identified as Nicholas Grant, 32, of College Park, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said.

Grant’s body was discovered about 11:20 a.m. on Aldredge Road near Butner Road, just south of Camp Creek Parkway, according to police.

His death is believed to be the result of foul play, Fulton Police Detective Melissa Parker said.

Parker said a passer-by driving along the residential road reported the unidentified man laying on the ground near a gravel lot at the intersection of the two streets, just across from the entrance to a residential subdivision.

“Somebody turning around at this location spotted the body just a few feet off the roadway,” Parker said. “We’re not exactly sure how long he’s been there.”

Police caution tape zig-zagged across Aldredge, keeping civilians as far as 200 yards back, and a crime scene investigator was placing about a half dozen evidence markers on the ground within feet of the edge of the road where police said the body was found.

Parker said officers and investigators fanned out in the surrounding neighborhood to question residents.
