A townhome development by Venture Homes was approved Monday by the Austell City Council.
The 52 units at 5810 Maxham Road will consist of 10 percent rental, about 1,700 square feet and two stories for each, two-car garages, 25-foot long driveways for two cars, three bedrooms and two and a half baths.
Every resident will have to join the mandatory homeowners’ association and pay an initiation fee of $300 to $400 each and about $140 a month to the HOA for complete lawn care and detention pond maintenance.

Company spokesman Sean Randall told the council $9.5 million will be added to the city’s tax base.
Based in Marietta, Venture Homes has five townhome communities and 11 single-family subdivisions - mainly in Cobb.
