Austell increases wastewater rates
Now Austell wastewater customers are paying more for their rates due to an increase of 49 cents per 1,000 gallons passed on to the city from Cobb County. AJC file photo
Austell residents are paying more for their wastewater rates, beginning this month.
The increase was approved by the Austell City Council on Dec. 2.
Since the Cobb County Water System increased Austell’s wastewater rates by 49 cents per 1,000 gallons, Austell officials decided to pass along the county’s increase.
Inside the city, the former rate of $5.91 per 1,000 gallons is now $6.40 per 1,000 gallons.
Outside the city, the former rate of $6.17 per 1,000 gallons is now $6.67 per 1,000 gallons.
