The Austell City Council approved Monday spending $300,000 on a new water line for the city’s Threadmill Complex, 5000 Austell-Powder Springs Road.

Funding comes from the special purpose local option sales tax or SPLOST.

Also, the council agreed to pay an estimated $34,900 to Croy Engineering for this project, also with SPLOST monies.

These services will include preliminary water line design and cost proposal, construction plans, bidding assistance, construction management and as-built drawings.

Additional engineering costs would be considered for any easements the city purchases for the project.
