Peachtree Corners incumbent Jeanne Aulbach held onto her Post 4 council seat in the city’s runoff election held Dec. 5, according to unofficial results.

Aulbach, who was first elected to the Post 4 seat in 2012, defeated challenger Joe Sawyer by a vote of 750 to 735.

In the general election held Nov. 6, Aulbach faced two challengers, Sawyer and Luke Crawford. She finished with the most votes, but did not collect more than half of all votes cast which forced a runoff election with second place Sawyer. Aulbach will be sworn in on Jan. 2.

The Peachtree Corners City Council is chaired by the mayor who is elected at-large and six councilmembers. Three council members represent geographical districts (Posts 1, 2, and 3), and three are elected at-large (Posts 4, 5, and 6). The mayor and councilmembers serve staggered four-year terms.
