Auburn has been awarded a planning grant from the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Livable Centers Initiative. Over the next six months, TSW, an Atlanta-based planning consulting firm, will help the city create an updated plan for downtown Auburn and surrounding areas. The city will kick off the “Define Our Auburn” effort with a public meeting and workshop at 6 p.m.. March 19 at Perry Rainey Center, 16 College St.

The city hopes the “Define Our Auburn” plan will create a vision for downtown Auburn that “will grow the local economy, encourage appropriate development, make walking and biking easier, and revitalize historic downtown.”

Additional community meetings will be held to review the planning process, engage the community and to gather feedback.

The community can also participate in an online survey: www.tinyurl.com/AuburnGASurvey.
