A 49-year-old woman was reported missing Tuesday after her car was found in Alabama.

Melanie Quinton, 49, has mental health issues, including bipolar disorder, according to her husband, police said.

Cleburne County (Ala.) Sheriff’s Office authorities located the unoccupied vehicle along a highway. The vehicle registration was traced to an Atlanta couple, and local officers went to the home.

Robert Quinton told Atlanta police that he didn’t know where his wife was headed when she left Tuesday morning, and that she has a history of such behavior, authorities said.

Melanie Quinton is described as 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on her location should call Atlanta police at 404-546-4235 or 911.
