“Purple rain, purple rain” will fall from the figurative skies in Atlanta in the thick of a booming live music festival this weekend.

That festival is none other than the Shaky Knees Festival, held this year at Centennial Olympic Park and International Plaza in downtown Atlanta.

And that "Purple Rain" is none other than Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Prince's film and cult classic. The Fox Theatre will screen the film at 7:30 p.m. Saturday to launch its annual summer film festival.

Gates to Shaky Knees open at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The lineup — which will include Florence + the Machine, the 1975, Walk the Moon, the Decemberists, Foals, At the Drive-In and Bloc Party — is set to run through 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday.

Be sure to check traffic before heading out.

Sunny and warm this weekend

The rain is gone, and the skies have cleared — a sign of things to come, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Expect sunshine and partly cloudy skies Saturday.

Even though the forecast includes a cold front Saturday afternoon, highs will still reach the 80s.

“That is right on the money for where we should be this time of year,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

Highs are expected to reach the low 70s Sunday.

Tips to get your knees shaking

Purchase in advance a three-day general admission ticket to Shaky Knees for $215 or a VIP ticket for $614. Those prices will increase to $236 and $692, once advance tickets sell out. General admission single-day tickets are $97, and a VIP single-day ticket is $250.

Children, ages 8 or younger, can enter for free with a ticketed adult. Feel free to enter and exit the festival as needed up to three times per day.

Get tickets here or here. If the festival is canceled, only those purchased through official measures will be refunded.

Wristbands: If you remove it, you void it. Security will check wristbands each day to ensure they have not been removed or replaced. If such an action is determined, you will be removed from the festival grounds.

Getting there: Either take the MARTA red line to Peachtree Center (follow signs to Centennial Olympic Park) or the blue line to the Dome/GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN station.

A three-day parking pass for the red lot at the Georgia World Congress Center is available for $40.

Single-day advance parking at the same lot is available for $14.

Do bring: Two factory-sealed bottles of water, blankets, empty water bottles and hydration packs, baby strollers, binoculars and nonprofessional cameras.

Don't bring: Selfie sticks, professional recording devices, pets (aside from service animals), chairs, coolers, aerosol containers, fireworks and umbrellas.

On a break from the festival: See "Purple Rain." Reserved tickets are $15 in advance or $20 the day of the show (plus applicable fees), and are available at the Fox Theatre ticket office, online at foxtheatre.org or by calling 855-285-8499.
