In anticipation of a huge crowd of city workers, expected to show up to hear the fate of their pensions, Wednesday’s Atlanta City Council Finance/Executive Committee meeting has been moved to the city council chambers.

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and members of his administration are set to make a presentation on possible changes to the city’s three pension plans at the 1 p.m. meeting. Reed has noted that the pension payouts that the city is currently obligated for, has hampered the city financially.

City workers, including several municipal unions, have been vocally against any proposed changes to their retirement plans and have threatened suit.
