Atlanta police are looking for the man accused of raping a woman in an abandoned house earlier this month.

Authorities released a sketch of the suspect Sunday night.

The man allegedly beat and raped a woman after taking her by force to an abandoned home on Forrest Hills Drive in southwest Atlanta on May 17, police said.

The woman told police that she was able to use the suspect’s own knife to cut the right side of his neck during the assault. Authorities said the suspect currently may have a scab or scar on his neck as a result.

The suspect is described as a black man in his early 20s. He is 5-foot-6 to 5-8 and weighs about 175 pounds, with a slightly muscular build. The woman said he had a low afro and was wearing a black T-shirt, black pants and black shoes — possibly a work uniform.

He may frequent the Travel Inn on Forrest Hills Drive and the City of East Point, police said.

Contact the Atlanta police with any information on the case.
