Atlanta police have found the 5-year-old girl who disappeared from her southeast Atlanta home last week after her estranged mother picked her up.

Trinity Lyons was returned to her home, where she is “safe and doing well,” according to an email sent by Atlanta Police Department spokesman Officer Ralph Woolfolk a little before 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said Trinity’s mother picked her up Thursday in the 1000 block of Oak Knoll Terrace SE and had not returned her as of Tuesday afternoon.

The incident involved a custody dispute with the mother, who is no longer Trinity’s legal guardian, according to an APD statement released Tuesday night.

No other information was immediately available.
