Atlanta’s school system plans to redistribute teachers and break up large classes by Oct. 1.

Superintendent Erroll Davis and his staff told the Atlanta Board of Education on Tuesday they’re evaluating which class sizes turned out to be too big because of enrollments that were higher than expected.

The school board voted to hire additional teachers during this summer’s budget process in order to have class sizes as large as 25 students for kindergartners and up to 35 students for high schoolers.
