The Atlanta Passport Agency will offer special summer hours at its downtown location 8 a.m. to noon Friday and Saturday with no need to make an appointment, according to a press release.

The agency will accept applications for first-time and renewal passports for both children and adults. The Atlanta Passport Agency located at 230 Peachtree Street NW, Suite 1000 in Atlanta (above Peachtree Center MARTA station with an entrance between Hotel Indigo and BB&T Bank) is operated directly by the U.S. Department of State and typically requires appointments and proof of immediate travel.

In 2017, the department issued a record 21 million passports. The special hours on Friday and Saturday allow summer travelers a convenient option for taking care of passport needs during the busy summer season.

Applicants will receive their passports via mail according to routine service (3- 4 weeks) or expedited service (2 weeks). Expedited service is an additional $60.
