The Atlanta Police Department is hosting its 27th Annual Atlanta Police Memorial Service to pay tribute to the lives of 88 fallen police officers, according to a press release. Arthur Blank, owner and chairman of Blank Family of Businesses, will be the keynote speaker for the event.

Members of the Atlanta Police Department will gather for a procession at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 8 from the city of Atlanta’s Public Safety Headquarters at 226 Peachtree St. SW to the City Hall Atrium at 55 Trinity Ave. SW. The procession will depart from Headquarters at 9:40 a.m. with an escort from the Atlanta Police Motorcycle Unit and Atlanta Police Mounted Patrol Unit.

The service will begin at 10 a.m. Additional speakers memorializing Atlanta Police Department’s fallen heroes are Chief Erika Shields, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, City Council President Felicia Moore, City Council Public Safety Chairman Dustin Hillis.

Atlanta Police Department staff, local law enforcement agency representatives, Song of Atlanta, Tufton Tet String Ensemble and families of fallen Atlanta Police officers will also be present.

The procession will travel from Garnett Street, to Central Avenue and end at the entrance of the City Hall Atrium along Trinity Avenue. The procession is expected to be in motion from 9:40 a.m. to 9:50 a.m.
