It may not be by much, but gas prices in metro Atlanta have dropped slightly, according to AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report.

For those filling up Monday morning, the average price of a gallon of regular gas is $2.58, according to the AAA. On Sunday, the average price of gas in metro Atlanta was $2.60, the fuel report says.

Atlanta also comes in more than 10 cents below the national average of $2.70 for a gallon of regular gas, according to the fuel report.

Gas prices have been trickling downward for about a week. Atlanta motorists who filled up last Monday paid an average $2.64 a gallon.

But those prices make the ones a year ago seem like a steal. A year ago, Atlanta drivers paid an average $1.75 a gallon, the AAA says.
