Saying they want to make Atlanta one of the nation’s top-rated cities for fiscal transparency, two City Council members are asking residents to participate in a survey to gauge public support for the idea.

Council Members Mary Norwood and Felicia Moore cite a 2013 study by the U.S. Public Interest Research Group Educational Fund that ranked 30 cities on their progress toward a "Transparency 2.0" model of accountability. Atlanta, they said, did not do well. Information: bit.ly/21n8Jdq

In their survey, Norwood and Moore ask if City Council and departmental expenditures should be online for public access, and to explain, why or why not? Survey responses are confidential. To take it: marynorwood.com/transparency-survey/
