Armed robbery suspect stabbed in back

Jan 15, 2014

An armed man stole approximately $300 from a sandwich shop in College Park last week, but he didn’t get away unscathed.

The suspect was stabbed in the back during the Jan. 7 robbery, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

Authorities are looking for the suspect, who had a black handgun when he entered the American Sandwich at 5471 Riverdale Road. An employee stabbed him in the upper right portion of his back, and the suspect fled on foot, the sheriff’s office said in a news alert. The knife was still in his back. A 9mm cartridge was recovered from the scene.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early to mid-20s, 6 feet tall to 6-2, and between 150 and 175 pounds. He was wearing a gray hoodie and had a bandana over his face.

Anyone with information on the case should call authorities at 678-610-4785.
