Nov 19, 2012Atlanta police are investigating the drug overdose of a southwest Atlanta infant found dead in early October.
Toxicology reports have confirmed the 11-month-old boy died after ingesting an opium-based substance, APD homicide commander Paul Guerrucci said. Investigators are treating his death as a homicide, he said.
Police are mum as to whether there are any suspects. The infant, who would’ve celebrated his first birthday on Saturday, was not with his parents when he died.
Investigators are interviewing anyone who came in contact with the baby, Channel 2 Action News reported.
