On Wednesday the Fulton County Cooperative Extension will mark the end of its second season running the Fulton Fresh Mobile Farmer’s Market — which delivered an estimated 8 tons of produce to more than 1,800 residents living in 12 “food deserts,” where mainstream grocery stores are scarce. Thanks to running an extra mobile unit this year, the numbers topped 2011, when the program provided about 10,000 pounds of produce to over 900 residents.

The celebration will be at the Shrine of the Black Madonna, 946 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. S.W., Atlanta, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
