An anonymous tip to Acworth police led to the arrests of three people on drug charges this week.
After receiving the tip about suspected drug activity at a pair of duplexes on Pinehurst Circle, investigators learned that the three residents, Thomas Blake Kilby, 30, Tiffany Anne Dupree, 31, and Courtney Lynn Holmes, 23, all had active warrants out for their arrests, according to Acworth police Capt. Mark Cheatham.
“The investigation led officers to believe that Mr. Kilby was in possession of firearms and that the residence had video surveillance,” Cheatham said in an e-mail.
The Cobb police SWAT team assisted Acworth police in executing search warrants Monday, Cheatham said. Dupree and Holmes were arrested outside their homes, and Kilby was arrested after a brief standoff.
Police said weapons and drugs were discovered inside Kilby’s and Dupree’s home, and that illegal narcotics were discovered inside Holmes’ adjacent home.
Kilby and Dupree, who were wanted for probation violation in Cobb County, were charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and marijuana and four counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Holmes, who was wanted for failure to appear in Cherokee County, was charged with possession of methamphetamine.
