The Rev. Alveda King, pastoral associate and director of African-American Outreach for Priests for Life, will be the speaker during a program at 7 p.m. Friday at the Cathedral of Christ the King, 2699 Peachtree Rd. NE.

The church's Respect Life committee is sponsoring the free program.

King, the niece of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., has been a prominent figure in the pro-life movement. She is also the founder of King for America, a faith-based organization formed to help people spiritually, economically, intellectually and socially.  Her speech will be followed by a question and answer session.
