The latest example of the “escape game” reality entertainment genre may soon open in Alpharetta.
The Alpharetta City Council on Monday approved an amendment to the Windward Master Plan to add “Recreation Facilities, Indoor” – in this case, a series of “escape rooms” – to the list of permitted uses, allowing an Odyssey Escape Game center to open at 111 Alderman Drive in the office park.
Michael Cook, owner of the Buford-based Odyssey, said in a letter to the city that the facility would host “corporate team-building training activities/services to corporate management teams in the surrounding area, as well as offer our team-building services to the general public during non-business hours, Friday night through Sunday night.”
In its application, Odyssey said it would have three to five employees on site, and that it expects 8 to 30 customers on weekdays and 150 to 200 customers on weekends.
