Alpharetta recount set for Wednesday

Fulton County elections officials will recount the votes for Alpharetta City Council Post 1 on Wednesday.
The initial results of last week’s election showed Donald Mitchell beating Douglas DeRito by a vote of 1,079 to 1,072. Georgia law allows the losing candidate to request a recount when the number of votes between the candidates is less than 1 percent of votes cast.
The recount will occur at 10 a.m. at the Fulton County Elections Preparation Center in Atlanta.
