The Alpharetta City Council has approved a major change for a site previously approved for corporate offices. Now, the property is designated high-density residential, to be developed with 89 detached and attached homes and a six-acre park.

Southeast Real Estate Acquisitions LLC requested the master plan amendment for the Cousins Westside Pod F tract, located between Westside and Encore parkways west of Maxwell Road.

Revised plans call for 36 single-family detached homes, 33 townhouses and 20 manor homes with prices averaging in the mid $500,000s, mid $400,000s and mid $200,000s, respectively, according to a staff report. The residences will have English Cottage styling, and they and the park will occupy a site of 19.87 acres.

The development will be a gated community, but the park will be dedicated to the city and accessible to the public. Pod F is one of two remaining undeveloped tracts of the Cousins Westside Master Plan, approved in 2003 as a mixed-use development containing offices, stores, restaurants, multi-family housing and other uses.
