Alpharetta has a brand-new city hall that employees are moving into this week. Now that building has an official address.

The Alpharetta City Council Monday night voted unanimously to name a street running through the 22-acre City Center downtown redevelopment project (of which city hall is a component), Park Plaza. That gives the municipal building the address of 2 Park Plaza.

Several other streets that comprise parts of the project will be given monikers later, a city official said.

Also Monday night, the council heard Mayor David Belle Isle outline his vision for a downtown musical theme, including bronze sculptures of oversized instruments and dance steps embedded in sidewalks. The council asked city staffers to put together a couple of public meetings in early 2015 to gather feedback on the idea.
