The Alpharetta City Council has approved a $329,963 contract to a landscape company to maintain city green spaces and be on-call for tree planting and other assignments.

Ruppert Landscape, the successful bidder, will be responsible for mowing, pruning, mulching, leaf and litter removal, weed and pest control, roadside brush mowing, stormwater pond maintenance and other tasks.

“It is a large contract that requires multiple crews performing full-time throughout the year,” staff said in a report that accompanied the City Council agenda. The contract does not include city parks and park facilities, the City Center or the downtown container gardens, which are managed under a separate contract.

Ruppert also will be on-call for tree plantings, landscape improvements and other work; all pricing will be subject to review and approval by city staff. The company previously was contracted to install landscaping in the medians of Old Milton Parkway from Main Street to Ga. 400, as well as other, smaller jobs for the city.
