A Rivers Alive! cleanup of the Big Creek Greenway in Alpharetta is set for the morning of Saturday, Oct. 6. CITY OF ALPHARETTA

The city of Alpharetta and the Alpharetta Natural Resource Commission have put out a call for volunteers for the 29th annual Rivers Alive! cleanup.

The event is set for 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 6, along the Big Creek Greenway. Volunteers will help remove litter and debris, stencil storm sewers, and do other projects. Families, Scout troops, service groups and individuals are invited to participate. They should pre-register by calling 678-297-6200 or emailing tporter@alpharetta.ga.us.

Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Rock Mill Park, 3100 Kimball Bridge Road. Volunteers under age 18 must have a volunteer waiver form completed and signed by a parent before arriving at the event. The form is available at: www.alpharetta.ga.us.
