The management of Allatoona Lake announced that all campsites for the Fourth of July weekend have been booked, and crowded conditions are expected.

A few campsites are still available on weekdays, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said in a Facebook posting. Prospective campers should check the https://www.recreation.gov/ website for availabilities.

“When visiting a beach or ramp the next few weeks, please carpool to the areas,” with members of a boating party all coming together in the towing vehicle, the Corps said. “Parking will be limited, and as soon as the parking is full, the gates will be closed. Single-car parking will be significantly limited on ramps.”

Beaches also are expected to be at capacity on the weekend, and those wishing to get in should come early or late. Fees will be waived for day-use areas until Oct. 1, but parking regulations “will be seriously enforced.”

"The lake will be crowded; please slow down and wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket," the Corps said. Information: https://bit.ly/389AvFd
