Police in Alabama have arrested a man accused of shooting into a Johns Creek woman's home and nearly striking her two children.
 
Hoover police said they arrested James Jones, 31, on Sunday. He is being held on charges of harassing communications, stalking, terroristic threats, four counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and discharging a firearm near a city street.
 
Johns Creek police said someone shot into the door a home on Cauley Creek Drive Thursday evening, nearly striking two children inside. No one was injured in the shooting.
 
Jones was a suspect in the shooting due to his long-term infatuation with a woman who lived inside the home, Hoover police said.
 
Johns Creek police said the woman is a former professor of Jones'.
