If you’re hoping to run in the 48th AJC Peachtree Road Race, securing a good start wave can make a huge difference.
So how do you do that?
Start wave assignments are based on performance, so placement is determined by the finish time of a previous race listed on a registrant’s application.
But don’t think about submitting that one amazing score you had from five years ago.
All times must be from a past race run on or after Jan. 1, 2015, and must have been run on a USATF certified course (4M, 5K, 8K/5M, 10K, 15K, 10M, 13.1M distance).
The times will be verified by the Atlanta Track Club. If the time is incorrect or unverifiable, you'll be randomly placed in one of the last start waves for the July 4 race.
Oh, and times won't be accepted or changed after your registration has been submitted. People who had an Atlanta Track Club membership by Feb.1 may register from March 1 to March 14; lottery registration is from March 15 to March 22.
With all that said, here are some upcoming races in Fulton County you can enter if you don’t have a qualifying time on the books already.
