Bruster's Ice Cream has closed one of its long-standing locations in metro Atlanta.

The Bruster’s at 2550 Lawrenceville Highway in the Decatur area served sweet treats to the community for 20 years. Meredith Klein, a spokeswoman for the company, confirmed the closure Tuesday.

“On behalf of the Bruster’s team, we commemorate our customers and thank them for their patronage at Bruster’s of Decatur,” Klein said. “We’re grateful for the many years of partnership and look forward to building new memories with customers at other nearby stores and across our many locations in Georgia.”

The counter-serve ice cream chain has several other locations across DeKalb County and metro Atlanta. The closest one to the Lawrenceville Highway shop is the Bruster's in the Toco Hill shopping center, off Lavista Road.
