Adopt a pet for free on Black Friday at these Atlanta-area shelters

Black Friday is an opportunity for shoppers to save money on inanimate objects. But in metro Atlanta, it’s also a chance for animal lovers to gain a new pet — for free.

LifeLine Animal Project is waiving adoption fees on every animal at each of its locations. Costs associated with the animal’s spay or neuter, vaccination and microchip will also be covered, allowing the new owner to leave the shelter without spending a dime.

On November days that aren’t the 25th, adoptions cost $85 for dogs and $65 for cats.

All applicants are screened to ensure the animal goes to a good home.

The promotion is valid at all LifeLine shelters, including DeKalb County Animal Services, Fulton County Animal Services, the LifeLine Dog House & Kitty Motel and the LifeLine Cat Adoption Center.
