A proposal to allot $2 million in additional funding for a park underway in the Fairview area was shot down when the Henry County Board of Commissioners’ vote on the motion was 3-3.
Commissioner Bruce Holmes requested the money for more pavilions and other structures as well as an eight-foot-wide multi-use path stretching to the DeKalb County line. The park is being located at Fairview and Anvil Block roads. It is a SPLOST construction project and the money requested was to be transferred from another SPLOST line item for a proposed police station that Holmes said is no longer needed in the area.
