Acworth will hold a general election Nov. 7 to elect a mayor and two aldermen.
Qualifying will be held between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Aug. 21-23 in the Office of the City Clerk, Acworth City Hall, 4415 Senator Russell Ave., Acworth.
The qualifying fee for mayoral candidates will be $612 and for each alderman candidate $396.
Those elected will serve four-year terms from Jan. 1, 2018 to Jan. 1, 2022.
Potential candidates must be a qualified city voter, a resident of the city for one year immediately before the election date and continue to reside in the city during the period of service.
