America’s Night Out Against Crime will be hosted by the Acworth Police Department from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 6.

Acworth residents are invited to join with thousands of communities nationwide for the “36th Annual National Night Out” (NNO) crime-and-drug prevention event.

The Acworth event will be held at the Acworth Police Department, 4440 Acworth Industrial Drive.

The Acworth Police Department, Acworth Power Department and Cobb Fire Department will interact with residents, including playing games and asking questions.

National Night Out is a crime prevention tool that encourages Americans to get together with their neighbors and meet their local law enforcement officers.

Among the goals are for neighbors to pay attention to their surroundings so that they are more likely to recognize and report suspicious people or vehicles to law enforcement.
