An Acworth mother will be buried with her baby this coming Saturday after dying from a wreck in Cherokee County, according to family members.
Doctors tried to save Tiffany Robbins’ 7-month-old baby with a Cesarean section but the 4-pound child did not survive. The 26-year-old Robbins died of internal injuries after the operation.
“The mother will be holding the baby,” said Judy Beale, an aunt of the victim, shortly after leaving the funeral home Monday. “She looks like a little porcelain doll.”
The parents had already named the baby Ariella Robbins, Beale said.
Robbins’ 2-year-old daughter Malaya, who was strapped in a car seat, survived the crash with minor injuries, the aunt said. Robbins, who was also wearing her seat belt, was turning from Victory Drive when she pulled her Honda Accord into the path of a truck traveling north on Woodstock Road last Saturday, according to Lt. Jay Baker with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver of the truck involved in the wreck was not seriously injured and was not treated at WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where the victims were treated.
Besides her daughter, Robbins is survived by husband Anthony Robbins, parents Antonio and Cindy del Carmen of Woodstock, and half-brother Ariel del Carmen, who lives in the Philippines, Beale said.
Robbins completed most of her schooling in Deer Park, Texas, a Houston suburb, but graduated from Woodstock’s Etowah High School in 2008. She had a passion for cheerleading and dance, Beale said.
She met her husband eight years ago “in passing,” Beale said. “One of her friends gave Anthony her phone number … and Anthony got up the courage to call.”
The two dated for five years and had been married for three.
The family was still stunned by her capricious death Monday. Beale quoted her own daughter to summarize the family’s pain and Robbins’ character, a stay-at-home mom whom the aunt said never gave her parents any trouble as a teenager.
“She said, ‘You know mom, it doesn’t seem fair. Tiffany was the perfect child and I gave you hell,’” said Beale, as she wept for her niece. “It is sad. She got her angel wings too soon.”
Visitation is Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Woodstock Funeral Home.
