Acworth man accused of killing dog who urinated on floor

A Cobb County man is accused of beating a small dog to death because she urinated inside, according to police.
The alleged abuse happened in April, but no charges were filed until a necropsy was performed on Lilly, a Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix, at the University of Georgia, Cobb police said.
On April 20, Sidney Walker Taylor allegedly slammed the dog’s head onto the floor, according to police.
“Said accused did permanently disfigure the dog, ‘Lilly,’ when he slammed her head to the floor after she urinated on the floor, breaking three teeth from her mouth,” the warrant states.
Then on April 27, Taylor allegedly beat the dog, resulting in her death.
Investigators believe Taylor “beat the dog with sufficient force to cause a hemothorax and multi-organ hemorrhage by blunt force trauma,” the warrant states.
Taylor, 22, of Acworth, was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, Cobb jail records showed. He was released late Wednesday after posting $7,500 bond.
