Acworth city officials will open the newly renovated Logan Farm House for rentals as a special events facility this month.
The renovation of this mid-1800s facility began in January 2017 with Macallan Construction as the general contractor and Norman Askins as the architect.
This project included a full restoration of the original structure, according to city officials.
Since almost all of the original siding, flooring, walls and ceilings were in good shape, they were reused.
However, since the chimneys were structurally unsound, they were replaced with reclaimed brick.
A cedar shake roof was placed on the original structure.
To make the facility more functional for events, the city removed the modern additions on the back of the house and built a new structure that houses the restroom, catering prep area and meeting space.
The city partnered with Cobb Landmarks to furnish the original structure to match the mid-1800s.
