The Acworth City Council has approved pay increases for the city attorney and city solicitor that became effective July 1.

City attorney Douglas R. Haynie of Haynie, Litchfield, Crane and White of Marietta is being paid an hourly rate of $160 instead of $145.

Haynie also is an attorney for Marietta, the Cobb County Board of Tax Assessors, the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority and the Marietta Development Authority, according to his law firm’s website.

City solicitor Randall Bentley of the Bentley, Bentley and Bentley law firm of Marietta has a new hourly rate of $125 instead of $115.

Bentley also is the city attorney for Kennesaw and city solicitor for Powder Springs.
