An Acworth man who played golf for the University of West Georgia was killed in a motorcycle accident outside the school's football stadium in Carrollton Saturday.

The Georgia State Patrol said Matthew Benjamin Dyas, 20, was killed when a 2006 Nissan Maxima turned into his path on Lovvorn Road.

Gloria Faith Dupree, 23, from Allenhurst, is charged with first degree vehicular homicide and DUI, said the GSP's Gordy Wright. She is in custody at the Carroll County jail.

The Times-Georgian reports Dyas was a member of the university golf team and that the accident occurred about an hour before West Georgia's homecoming day football game against Henderson State.

Dyas, a junior, was from Acworth and attended Harrison High School, said the Times-Georgian.
