Both Interstate 985 northbound lanes at the Interstate 85 split in Gwinnett County will be closed overnight Thursday, the county said.

The closure will allow construction crews to install concrete bridge beams for the Georgia Express Lane extension on I-85, according to the county.

One lane will close at 9 p.m. and the second lane will close at 11 p.m. Both will remain closed until 5 a.m. Friday.

Traffic will be rerouted onto I-85 to exit 115. From exit 115, drivers can take Ga. 20 to I-985. The detour is about six miles long, according to Gwinnett County.
