A 104-year-old Milton woman has died, the city announced Wednesday.

Her obituary indicated that she stayed active late in her life, saying a month earlier she was raking acorns in her yard.

Allen’s family wrote that she was devoted to her knitting group at the Alpharetta Senior Citizens Center.

"On behalf of Mayor Lockwood, the Milton City Council, and the entire Milton staff, we send our thoughts and prayers to the Allen family," the city wrote in its announcement.

Allen's death comes about a month after Elsada Duncan, known around the city of about 40,000 residents as "Granny" or "Miss Elsie," died at age 111.
