The Suwanee City Council voted Tuesday to postpone any potential rezoning for a proposed $46 million mixed-use development along Buford Highway.

According to Mayor Jimmy Burnette, the city has received numerous requests from citizens wanting to learn more about the proposal. A special called meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8 at City Hall, 330 Town Center Avenue to allow additional public comments and vote on the zoning request.

The project, announced last week, is planned as an extension of the city’s Town Center. Atlanta developer Terwilliger-Pappas has been selected for the development on 4.87 acres on Buford Highway at Chicago Street.
